Thyroid Conditions
Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Grave's Disease, Thyroiditis, Thyroid Nodules, Secondary Panhypothyroidism
Our thyroid affects every tissue in the body as it is responsible for stimulating all metabolic processes, so when it's not functioning properly our body feels like it's failing us. It may take years to get a diagnosis for a thyroid disorder which means years of feeling "off", and even when you finally get a diagnosis and on medication while your lab numbers might be within normal limits you still aren't feeling like yourself. East-Asian Medicine's approach to thyroid health focuses on improving your thyroid's resilience and ability to assimilate Western pharmaceuticals appropriately while simultaneously focusing on the deeper root of the disharmony through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and incremental lifestyle adjustments.
As East-Asian medicine practitioners with extensive training in integrative medicine with Dr. Heidi Lovie, DACM and Dr. Clare Pyers (TCM), we work with you to really understand who you are, how your thyroid disharmony is affecting your daily life, and how to best help you feel better while simultaneously working on the root cause of the issue. Together we will work to identify the root of your thyroid disharmony and build your individual strategy toward remission, using conventional lab tests to track progress and adjust treatment approach when necessary. It will take more time than you would prefer, collaboration between you, us, and your other practitioners, rigorous experimentation to find what works, and an immense amount of patience, but by starting on this path you will see results that are sustainable and will compound over time. If you're curious to see if we're a good fit to help you reach your health goals, let's connect below.
