Photobiomodulation (Red Light Therapy)
Photobiomodulation, more commonly known as red light therapy, in a non-invasive therapy that utilizes specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light, stimulating an increase in cellular energy production via adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis, which enhances cellular processes such as gene expression, protein synthesis, and cellular repair. By improving mitochondrial function, photobiomodulation reduces oxidative stress, modulates inflammatory cytokine production, and increases the release of growth factors which contribute to reduced inflammation, accelerated tissue repair, and improved overall cellular function. Photobiomodulation has been found beneficial in various clinical applications, including reducing inflammatory skin eruptions, wound healing, pain management, hair restoration due to non-scarring alopecia, allergic rhinitis, and post-viral recovery to name a few. We recommend this additional in-person service to address inflammatory skin conditions, chronic pain, hair restoration, wound/surgical recovery, and post-viral inflammation.
