Opportunities at Tendervine Health
Below is an example of someone who would thrive at our clinic:You are whip smart, highly curious, a fast processor, ask questions freely when you don’t know something, and can work efficiently without much direction. People who have worked with you would describe you as very dependable, a clear communicator, annoyingly punctual, adaptable, and professional but caring in front of clients/patients. At your core you are excited when you don’t know something - it motivates you to learn about it rather than shattering your confidence. You are attracted to East-Asian medicine not because you’re anti-Western medicine but because you know EAM gives a whole-person perspective that can really help people that fall through the cracks of the Western medical system or whose Western medical treatment only brings them so far. In fact, you understand the importance of knowing enough about Western medicine in order to help patients navigate both medicines to figure out the customized, individualized treatment approach that works for them and their lifestyle. You believe in meeting people where they’re at and are focused on providing treatment that works even if it doesn’t fit nicely within a theory or medical dogma. You do not consider yourself a “healer” but rather as someone who guides others to their own resilience and sustainable health by drawing them a map and giving them and their bodies directions on how to get there. You understand that at best you provide 20% of the solution while the other 80% lies within the patient and their body, actions, and spirit. When a patient is not progressing towards a positive outcome, rather than getting discouraged you use that opportunity to analyze the current approach and consult literature to pivot treatment until there is positive movement or until you determine it’s best to refer out to someone else with a different perspective.Student Intern

Shadow practitioners in private treatments Observe practitioners in the clinic room with the patient. Over time as the practitioners and patients become more comfortable with your presence and demeanor, you may have an additional opportunity to feel pulses before and after treatments and practice direct moxibustion on patients.
Gain operational experience Witness the day-to-day operations of a dual private-community practice. Over time you may have an opportunity for direct experience by filling patient herbal prescriptions and analyzing lab tests from an East-Asian medical perspective.
